This page explains how articles on General Queen are written, checked and kept up to date.
Who writes
General Queen is written and edited by its founder, Jennifer Zilin, who started the site in 2018. Jennifer writes, edits and approves every article before it is published. She is not a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser, and articles make that clear where it matters.
How we choose topics
Topics come from readers’ questions, from what women are searching for within our topics, and from Jennifer’s own experience. We only write about subjects we can cover usefully and honestly.
Sources and fact-checking
Where facts matter, especially on health, we rely on trusted sources such as public health bodies (for example the NHS, CDC and NIH), established medical organizations, and published research, and we link to them so you can check for yourself. We avoid unsupported claims, exaggerated promises and statistics we cannot source.
Health content
Health and fitness articles are general information, not medical advice. They explain what is generally known and encourage readers to talk to a qualified professional about their own situation. Please read our Disclaimer.
Keeping articles up to date
We review older articles and update them when information changes. When an article is meaningfully updated, the “Updated” date at the top changes.
Corrections
If you think something is wrong, please contact us with a link to the article. We check every report, correct errors promptly, and note significant corrections in the article.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help with research, outlines or first drafts. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a person before it is published, and we do not publish AI-generated text unchecked.
Independence
General Queen does not accept payment to publish or change articles, and does not currently publish sponsored content or affiliate links. If that ever changes, it will be clearly labeled.

Photos are our own or come from free-license image libraries, credited where the license asks for it.
